Boeing said Thursday it will restart production of its commercial airplanes next week in the Seattle area, putting about 27,000 people back to work after operations were suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

보잉은 다음 주부터 시애틀에서 상업 비행기 생산을 다시 시작할 것이라고 목요일에 말했다. 그들은 약 2,7000명의 직원들을 다시 작업장에 불러들일 것이다. 

 

 

Boeing, which is Washington state's largest private employer, said it has taken extra precautions and instituted comprehensive procedures at all of its sites to fight the spread of COVID-19. The aerospace giant said its new virus-slowing measures will include the use of face masks and other protective equipment, hand-washing sites and employee wellness checks, among others.

Employees for the 737, 747, 767 and 777 airplanes will return as early as Monday with most returning to work by Tuesday, officials said. Employees for the 787 program will return next Thursday and Friday.

"This phased approach ensures we have a reliable supply base, our personal protective equipment is readily available and we have all of the necessary safety measures in place to resume essential work for our customers, " Stan Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and senior executive in the Pacific Northwest, said in a news release.

 

 

관계자에 따르면, 737,747,767 그리고 777비행기 직원들이 빠르면 월요일에 돌아올 것이며 대부분 화요일까지는 업무에 복귀할 것이다. 787 항공기 직원들은 다음 주 목요일과 금요일에 복귀할 것이다.

Boeing operates two commercial aviation production facilities in the Seattle area, one in Everett and another in Renton. Its Everett facility, north of Seattle, produces airplanes including 777s, 787s, 767s and 747s as well as the KC-46A military refueling and transport plane. Its plant in Renton, south of Seattle, produces the 737 line and military P-8s.

The coronavirus has exacerbated Boeing's crisis surrounding the 737 Max, which remains grounded after two deadly crashes. The Max assembly lines have been halted since January pending Federal Aviation Administration clearance of Boeing's proposed fixes for the flight control system implicated in the crashes, the Seattle Times reported.

 

 

보잉의 737 맥스는 두 번의 치명적 충돌 후에 여전히 이륙을 못하는 상태로 남아있다. 이러한 737 맥스를 둘러싼 보잉의 위기는 코로나 바이러스로 인해 더욱 악화되었다. 맥스 생산 라인은 지난 1월 연방항공청이 보잉사가 제안한 추락사고 비행통제시스템 수정안을 승인할 때까지 중단됐다고 시애틀 타임스가 보도했다.

 

 

Boeing this week restarted mostly defense production operations in the region with approximately 2,500 people. Operations at Boeing plants in South Carolina remain suspended, officials said.

 

 

보잉은 이번주에 약 2,500명 직원들과 이 지역에서 대부분의 방위 생산 사업을 재개했다. 관리자들에 따르면, 사우스캐롤라이나에 있는 보잉 공장의 운영은 아직 미뤄진 상태다.

보잉 다음주 워싱턴주 공장 재가동…장외 주가 10% 급등

 

공장 재개 소식에 보잉 주가는 10% 가까운 급등세를 나타냈다. 보잉의 주가는 우리 시간으로 17일 오전 8시 43분 기준 9.88% 폭등세를 나타내고 있다. 전일 뉴욕 증시의 정규장에서 보잉은 8.04% 급락했다.

 

보잉이 737 맥스 사고 영향 + 코로나 바이러스로 인한 수요 감소 등으로 유동성 확보에 엄청난 노력을 가하던 뉴스를 많이 보았다. 주가도 거의 곤두박질치듯이 빠지고.... 저 거대한 기업이 망하는 건가..?  설마.... 이런 생각을 가지고 있었는데,,,,     과연 위기에서 잘 벗어날지...? 아직 초보 금융인이기에 뉴스부터 더 열심히 봐야지..ㅎ
